Job Description: Cardiac Sonographer (Echocardiography Technologist)

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist performs and records diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures. Obtains information about cardiovascular and thoracic anatomy, cardiovascular pathophysiology, and hemodynamics, in order to recognize normal and abnormal cardiovascular structure, function, and abnormalities of blood flow. The Cardiac Sonographer must be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of ultrasound physics, instrumentation, tissue characteristics, and the measurements of blood flow, as well as recognize the biological effects of ultrasound. Ensures that cardiac ultrasound tests are of diagnostic quality and records all exam results.

Minimum Qualifications
1. National license in Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography, RDCS
2. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Provider Course
3. Minimum 2 year experience
