• Shift: 12-hour days (07:00 – 19:00)

• Unit: PACU / Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (perioperative nursing)

Job Requirements

• Active and unrestricted RN license (must meet state requirements for assignment in Texas)
• Minimum 1 year of recent PACU or post-anesthesia care experience required
• Current BLS (required); ACLS preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, airway management, and critical thinking skills
• Experience with IV medications, pain management, monitoring post-operative patients, and emergency response in PACU
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care
• Monitor vital signs, airway status, pain levels, and recovery milestones; respond promptly to changes
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV medications and analgesics
• Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, and perioperative teams to ensure safe patient transitions and continuity of care
• Perform PACU assessments, triage patients, and escalate concerns when necessary
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care, discharge criteria, and recovery expectations
• Maintain accurate documentation, adhere to patient safety protocols, and follow infection control practices
