Required Qualifications – Respiratory Therapist Jobs

• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (state requirements for Florida)
• Minimum 1 year RRT clinical experience (Level 3 NICU experience preferred; 3–5 years Level 2 NICU considered)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• STABLE certification preferred
• Strong critical thinking and independent clinical decision-making skills
• Detail-oriented, positive attitude, and effective communication within multidisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities – NICU Respiratory Therapist

• Provide respiratory support for neonates, attend high-risk deliveries, and participate in neonatal resuscitation
• Manage and troubleshoot ventilators and neonatal respiratory equipment, including Drager VN500, 3100A oscillators, and Vapotherm systems
• Administer surfactant and nitric oxide per protocol and collaborate on advanced respiratory therapies
• Obtain, analyze, and interpret arterial/venous blood gases and adjust ventilator settings accordingly
• Document interventions and patient status using Meditech and NeoNotes EMR systems
• Collaborate with neonatologists, NICU nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver family-centered care
