Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $150 - $160
- Location: Fairbanks, AK 99701 — Fairbanks nursing jobs, Alaska travel nurse opportunity
- Unit: 17-bed LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 36
- Duration: 16 weeks (Start: 6/21/2026 – End: 10/11/2026)
- Housing: Free 1-bedroom unit included (pet units not available)
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
- On-Call Requirement: 3 shifts per 6-week period
- Time Off: Up to 14 days (including max 4 weekend shifts; requests must be submitted at application)
- Residence Requirement: Permanent residence must be 50+ miles outside of Fairbanks
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience in a hospital setting
- Travel nursing experience required (travel RN)
- Recent experience with postpartum care, couplet care, and circulating for C-sections
- AK state RN license or willingness to apply within 24 hours of acceptance
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring
- Ability to float to other departments as needed (perinatal/triage/PPU)
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive maternity and newborn care across labor, delivery, postpartum, couplet care, and triage
- Circulate for C-sections and support approximately 80 deliveries per month
- Perform continuous fetal monitoring and respond to obstetric emergencies
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, pediatric providers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, patient safety protocols, and perinatal quality standards
- Participate in weekend, on-call, and holiday rotations as required
- Float to other departments when necessary to support patient care
