- Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour (18:45 – 07:15) — night shift travel respiratory therapist
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: 7400 - Respiratory Care - Respiratory Therapist
- Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Weekend Coverage: Required (9 weekend shifts per contract)
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Note: Local candidates within 50 miles not accepted
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid RRT credential required (CRT not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist (hospital experience preferred)
- Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
- Clinical experience in adult med/surg, adult critical care, and general pediatrics
- Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I and community hospital experience preferred
- Cerner electronic charting experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive respiratory care across a wide patient population, including neonatal and adult critical care
- Perform advanced respiratory procedures: intubation assist, extubation, tracheostomy care, pulmonary hygiene, sputum collection
- Manage and troubleshoot ventilators and specialized devices: jet and oscillatory ventilators, PB 980, V-60 NIV, Nitric delivery systems
- Provide point-of-care blood gas analysis using Istat and interpret arterial blood gases
- Assist in high-risk deliveries and provide respiratory support in Level 3 NICU and Trauma units
- Perform basic EKGs and support Rapid Response Teams as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (nursing, physicians, respiratory services) and maintain accurate documentation in Cerner
Compensation
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,500–$1,620 per week
