- Assignment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Surgical Technologist, CVOR)
- Location: Washington, DC 20010 — Washington DC surgical tech jobs
- Duration: 13 weeks (May 11, 2026 – August 10, 2026)
- Shifts: 4 x 12-hour shifts per week (Day: 06:30–19:00; Evening: 11:00–23:30); majority day shifts, up to two weeks of evenings per 6-week schedule
- On Call/Weekend: 6 on-call shifts per 6-week schedule; 1 weekend shift and/or 1 holiday per 6-week schedule
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840 – $1,970
Job Requirements (CVOR Surgical Tech Qualifications)
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR Surgical Technologist experience
- Active DC Surgical Tech license (must be in hand at time of submission)
- BLS certification required
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Ability to take 6 on-call shifts per 6-week schedule and work at least 1 weekend/holiday shift per 6 weeks
- Two (2) supervisor references required
- Must complete facility-specific modules and compliance requirements within specified timeframes
- Preferred: ACLS certification; Level 1 Academic Medical Center experience; transplant or trauma experience
Responsibilities (Surgical Tech CVOR)
- Assist in a wide range of cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures, including CABG, valve replacements, aortic repairs, and other complex CVOR cases
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, implants, and specialized cardiovascular equipment for surgical procedures
- Set up instrumentation for cardiovascular surgery and ensure OR readiness for scheduled and emergency cases
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, circulating nurses, and anesthesia providers to ensure optimal patient care
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergency surgical cases (trauma, transplant as needed)
- Support all service lines and cases within the CVOR and document care accurately per hospital policies and safety standards
