- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Travel Assignment)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,840 – $1,940 (Travel Nurse pay)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:00), 3 shifts per week
- Hours per Week: 36
- Start Date: April 27, 2026
- End Date: July 27, 2026
- Patient Population: Neonates and Infants (NICU)
- Unit Size: 54 beds (Level III/IV NICU)
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Weekend Requirement: 3 weekends per 6-week schedule; every other holiday
Job Requirements (NICU RN / Travel Nurse)
- Minimum 2 years of recent full-time Level III NICU experience (Level IV highly preferred)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia (pending acceptable; must have in hand before start)
- BLS and NRP certifications required (NRP must be current at time of submission)
- Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate (pending acceptable; must be completed before start)
- Epic charting experience required
- BSN preferred
- References required
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Responsibilities (NICU RN / Neonatal Nurse)
- Deliver comprehensive, family-centered nursing care to critically ill neonates and infants in a high-acuity NICU setting
- Manage advanced respiratory support including high frequency ventilation, conventional ventilators, iNO, NIPPV/NIMV, CPAP/BiPAP
- Perform and assist with procedures such as intubation, lumbar puncture, PICC placement, umbilical line placement, and chest tube placement
- Administer and titrate IV fluids and medications, including vasopressors
- Monitor and interpret ABGs, perform neonatal dosage calculations, and manage whole body cooling
- Provide wound, drain, and line care, including CVL dressing changes and ostomy care
- Float as needed to PICU, Pediatrics, Postpartum, and Labor & Delivery (baby catcher)
- Document care accurately using Epic; maintain clear, timely charting for quality patient care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes and family education
