Job Details
- Assignment Type: Travel Contract (13 weeks)
- Location: Kent, WA 98042 (Seattle area)
- Role: Hospital Respiratory Therapist / Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Setting: Hospital – Respiratory Therapy Unit; ventilator management and acute care
- Duration: May 4, 2026 – August 1, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:30pm – 7:00am)
- Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
- On Call: No
- EMR: Epic
- Scrubs: Any color and style
- Floating: May float to Auburn Medical Center as needed
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist (2 years preferred)
- Experience across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations
- Valid Washington state Respiratory Therapist license required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
- Proven skills in airway assessment/management, intubation/extubation, and ventilator management
- Competent in arterial blood gas assessment, blood gas draw/analysis, and respiratory equipment setup/disassembly
- Comfortable working independently (typically 1 RT per shift) and responding to emergencies (Rapid Response/Code Blue)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients with respiratory distress, airway compromise, and ventilator dependence
- Perform airway management procedures, intubation/extubation, and ventilator setup, monitoring, and adjustments
- Obtain and analyze blood gases; perform bedside respiratory assessments
- Respond to Rapid Response and Code Blue events as part of the emergency response team
- Collaborate with RNs, house supervisors, and multidisciplinary teams to triage and prioritize patient care
- Document patient assessments and treatments accurately in Epic EMR
- Float to Auburn Medical Center when required to support regional respiratory services
