Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience as an ICU RN or critical care nurse
  • Active RN license (compact license accepted where applicable)
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
  • Comfortable floating to other ICU units as needed
  • Professional appearance: Navy scrubs required; no fake nails permitted
  • Experience with EMR systems and accurate clinical documentation

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality critical care nursing to surgical, vascular, and ICU patients
  • Continuously monitor patient status and respond rapidly to changes in condition
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Perform ICU-level assessments, interventions, and post-op care following unit protocols
  • Utilize EMR for accurate documentation, handoffs, and care plans
  • Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients and staff and contribute to a positive unit culture
