Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Travel Nurse Contract)

Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a)

Job Requirements

Minimum 1 year of previous critical care or emergency nursing experience required
Active RN license with no hits/actions
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
Must not be a previous employee of St. Mary's
Candidate must reside outside of a 50-mile radius from Lewiston, ME (travel nurse requirement)
Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid

Responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process across all areas of the Emergency Department
Perform rapid assessment and triage of emergency department patients
Administer IV medications, therapies, and blood products as ordered
Participate in resuscitation and emergency interventions as needed
Provide patient and family education and emotional support
Document nursing care actions, teaching, observations, and patient responses accurately
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes
