Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,730 - $1,860
- Location: Reno, NV 89502 (Reno healthcare jobs / Nevada respiratory therapist jobs)
- Facility: Level II Trauma Center, 800 inpatient beds, 80 ER beds
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/18/2026 – End: 8/16/2026)
- Hours per Week: 36 (3x12 hour rotating shifts; varied days including weekends and holidays)
- Employment Type: Travel Respiratory Therapist / On-Site
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of acute care respiratory therapy experience (critical care/ICU preferred)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Nevada State License required (must apply for State of Nevada Point of Care Analyst license, Director of Point of Care, or General Supervisor of Point of Care prior to start)
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required prior to start
- Ability to float to different units (ICU, pediatric, adult general care) based on organizational needs
- Willingness to work major holidays and pick up additional shifts as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory therapy procedures per protocol and physician orders for patients from newborn to geriatric ages
- Provide ventilator management, oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and airway management
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care in critical care, adult general care, and pediatric general care units
- Initiate, modify, and document patient care plans according to established protocols and best practices in respiratory care
- Obtain and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and adjust therapy as indicated
- Maintain accurate patient records, department logs, and equipment checks
- Stay current with technological advances and clinical applications in respiratory therapy
- Ensure a positive patient experience through effective communication and service recovery
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, RT colleagues) to deliver high-quality pulmonary and critical care
