Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Montana
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (or obtained within 6 months of hire)
  • Minimum 1 year recent experience in a PCU, step-down, telemetry, or similar acute care setting
  • Hands-on experience with advanced monitoring and equipment: A-lines, central lines, chest tubes, ventilatory support, cardiac telemetry, and EKG interpretation
  • Pediatric experience and post–heart catheterization experience preferred
  • EPNC and TNCC certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients in the PCU / step-down unit
  • Monitor and manage patients with cardiac, respiratory, renal, and post-surgical diagnoses using telemetry and advanced monitoring
  • Operate and manage ventilatory support, multiple IV infusions, central lines, and arterial lines
  • Perform EKG interpretation and cardiac telemetry monitoring to support critical decision-making
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, case management) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Provide patient- and family-centered education, discharge planning, and continuity of care
  • Precept, mentor, and lead clinical practice for new staff as a clinical leader
  • Float to the Medical Surgical Unit as needed to support staffing and patient care
