Job Details

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 11, 2026 – August 10, 2026)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 – $2,010 (competitive travel nursing pay)
• Setting: ICU/PCU Float Pool (Resource Nursing Pool) — travel ICU RN / critical care RN role
• Shifts: 3x12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15), 36 hours per week
• Location: Roanoke, VA 24014 — travel nursing jobs in Roanoke, Virginia
• Charting: EPIC (EPIC charting experience preferred)
• Orientation: 24 hours

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Virginia or Compact State) — ICU RN / critical care RN required
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience (2+ years preferred) in Level I or II trauma centers or large acute care hospitals
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record
• Comfortable floating to all ICU and PCU units; floating may occur up to every 4 hours per shift
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Availability to work at least 1 holiday during the assignment and every other weekend (6 weekend shifts per 6-week block)
• First-time travel nurses and experienced travel ICU RNs are welcome

Core Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing across ICU and PCU units as part of the float/resource pool
• Manage arterial lines, central/PICC lines, and initiate/maintain IVs
• Administer blood products and continuous IV sedation; titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips per protocol
• Provide respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and ventilator management for ventilated patients
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias; obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs and monitor telemetry
• Follow IV insulin protocols, infection prevention standards, and evidence-based critical care practices
• Perform wound care including management of surgical wounds and wound vacs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, and physicians — to optimize patient outcomes
• Adapt quickly to changing unit assignments, patient acuity, and workflow demands in a fast-paced Level I Trauma Center
