Job Details

• Location: Penn Yan, NY 14527 (Finger Lakes, New York travel nurse opportunity)
• Setting: Acute Care – Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) Unit
• Employment Type: Travel RN, Part-Time
• Contract Duration: 14 weeks (5/11/2026 – 8/15/2026)
• Shifts: 2x12-hour rotating shifts per week (day/night variable; includes every other weekend and holidays)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,960 – $2,070 (Travel nurse pay estimate)

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a Med/Surg or medical-surgical nursing environment
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and cardiac care preferred (medical telemetry, cardiac telemetry)
• Strong communication, clinical assessment, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays — reliable travel nurse availability

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care as a Med/Surg RN in an acute care setting
• Perform thorough patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement nursing interventions
• Monitor telemetry and cardiac status; recognize and escalate changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per hospital policies and nursing scope
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EMR
• Educate patients and families on discharge plans, self-care, medication management, and lifestyle modifications
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (physicians, therapists, social work) to optimize patient outcomes
• Follow infection prevention protocols and maintain required clinical competencies
• Participate in quality improvement and professional development activities to support clinical excellence
