Join a leading hospital pharmacy team in vibrant Kansas City, MO. We are seeking a dedicated Specialty Pharmacist (travel pharmacist) for a 13-week hospital outpatient assignment. This role offers hands-on experience with specialty medications, pediatric pharmacy cases, and interdisciplinary clinical collaboration. Job Details
- Location: Kansas City, MO 64108 (hospital outpatient; may float to Overland Park, KS)
- Assignment Type: Travel assignment — Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy / Specialty Pharmacist
- Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,650 – $2,840
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, Day Shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Orientation: 12 hours
- Floating: May float between main campus and sister hospital in Overland Park, KS (approx. 12 miles)
Job Requirements (Pharmacist Requirements)
- At least 1 year of experience in an outpatient pharmacy setting or hospital outpatient pharmacy environment
- Specialty pharmacy experience preferred; pediatric pharmacy experience preferred
- Experience with Epic (Epic Specialty experience preferred) for medication management and documentation
- Active Missouri Pharmacy License (or compact) required; Kansas license required (may start with proof of application) — important for Kansas City pharmacy jobs
- BLS and PALS certifications (AHA only; RQI not accepted)
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions for COVID-19 only)
- Must pass medication/dosage test (100% required, up to 3 attempts)
- Smoke-free facility
Responsibilities
- Provide pharmaceutical care in a hospital outpatient pharmacy setting, including specialty medication management
- Support pediatric and specialty pharmacy services, counseling patients and coordinating care
- Utilize Epic Specialty for medication verification, documentation, and clinical interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, case managers) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float between main campus and sister hospital in Overland Park, KS as needed
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, state pharmacy regulations, and documentation standards
