Job Requirements
- Active Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT required)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (night shift RT experience preferred)
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- Strong communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills
- Ability to meet travel assignment credentialing and any state licensure requirements
Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care in accordance with physician orders, hospital protocols, and best practices
- Perform assessments, respiratory treatments, and ongoing monitoring for patients with acute and chronic respiratory disorders
- Manage mechanical ventilation and ventilator weaning; perform ABG analysis and interpret results
- Deliver oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, airway management, and advanced respiratory interventions as needed
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment and ventilators
- Collaborate with physicians, ICU nurses, emergency clinicians, and the interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes
- Accurately document all care in the electronic medical record in a timely manner
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and provide critical respiratory interventions (code response, rapid response)
