- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,740 – $1,840
- Setting: Neuro Telemetry Unit (Med/Surg Tele)
Job Details
- Patient Ratio: 1:4 for nights; 1:5 for weekends
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Floating: May be required between sister facilities
- Facility Type: Community hospital with Level II Trauma Center preferred experience
Required Qualifications – Telemetry RN / Med/Surg RN
- Active RN license (compact license accepted; must be in hand at submission)
- Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience (telemetry nursing experience required)
- BLS certification from an approved provider
- Experience with electronic charting systems (EPIC preferred)
- Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring
- Skills in peripheral line care, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions/PPE
- Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Neuro Telemetry unit, including TIA/stroke, trauma, epilepsy, and neurosurgical patients
- Continuously monitor and interpret telemetry strips, recognize and manage dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response/code situations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV team, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services) to coordinate patient care
- Use specialized patient handling equipment such as Viking Lift, Sara Steady, and Hoovermat safely and effectively
- Float between units as needed to support patient care across sister facilities
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EPIC (or other charting systems) and adhere to hospital policies—professional dress code (solid navy blue scrubs)
- Complete orientation and required training modules prior to shift start; commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays during the contract
