- Location: Tyler, TX 75701 (East Texas travel nursing opportunity)
- Setting: Coronary Care Unit (CVICU) / Cardio Thoracic ICU
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:00), 3 shifts per week
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:2 (cardiac ICU RN / critical care RN)
- Average Daily Census: 7
- Number of Beds: 10

Job Requirements (Cardiac ICU RN / CVICU)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cardio Thoracic ICU (CVICU) / cardiac ICU experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Registered Nurse (RN) license — must be eligible to work in Texas
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Experience with Epic electronic health record (Epic EHR) / Epic charting
- ECMO experience required (ECMO RN preferred)
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience in community hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I/II preferred
- Must not reside in the following Texas counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
Responsibilities (Cardiac Critical Care / CVICU RN)
- Provide expert critical care for Cardio Thoracic and CVICU patients, including ECMO-supported patients
- Float to cardiac stepdown units as needed to support patient flow
- Interpret dysrhythmias and manage multisystem organ failure in a cardiac ICU setting
- Manage invasive devices: intra-aortic balloon pumps, pulmonary artery (Swan-Ganz) catheters, arterial lines, central and PICC lines
- Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips per protocol
- Care for mechanically ventilated patients and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Document patient care accurately using Epic (Epic EHR)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, IV team, physical therapy, pharmacy, and physicians
- Maintain isolation precautions and PPE standards to ensure patient and staff safety
