Job Details – Travel OR RN / Perioperative Nurse
- Location: Santa Fe, NM 87505 (Santa Fe nursing jobs, New Mexico travel nurse)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: May 11, 2026
- End Date: August 9, 2026
- Shift: 8-hour day shifts (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,200 – $2,310
- Employment Type: Travel RN, Full Time (40 hours/week)
- Setting: Primary location: assignment is at the main perioperative center; must be willing to float to Main campus OR as needed
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active RN license in New Mexico or current Compact state license (Registered Nurse, OR RN)
- BLS certification (AHA required)
- ACLS certification (AHA required)
- Minimum 1 year of operating room experience or related surgical nursing specialty (Surgical RN, Perioperative Nurse)
- BSN preferred (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
- Ability and willingness to float between campuses as staffing needs require
Key Responsibilities – Operating Room Nurse / Perioperative RN
- Provide routine and complex perioperative nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation)
- Prepare and manage the operating room environment for surgical procedures and ensure patient safety
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, intraoperative care, and postoperative instructions accurately
- Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families during the perioperative period
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about procedures, recovery expectations, and available resources
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care team members; collaborate with surgical team and perioperative staff
- Remain flexible to stay beyond scheduled hours when surgical cases run past block times
