Job Details

• Location: Arcata, California (95521)
• Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Hospital Respiratory Therapy Unit
• Position Type: Travel Respiratory Therapist / Travel Contract
• Start Date: April 27, 2026
• End Date: July 27, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shifts: Three 12-hour day shifts per week (40 guaranteed hours)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,810 – $1,940

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active California Respiratory Care Practitioner license (required)
• Current certifications: NRP, BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Proof of negative TB test within 12 months prior to contract start date
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills; ability to work collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams

Preferred Skills (not required)

• Experience with ventilator management and mechanical ventilation
• Proficiency in arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and interpretation
• Familiarity with pulmonary function support, aerosol therapy, and airway management

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy treatments and diagnostic procedures to patients in the hospital setting
• Manage and monitor ventilators, oxygen therapy, and airway devices as indicated
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care
• Monitor and assess patient responses to therapy, adjusting care plans and interventions as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities in the medical record
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, respiratory care protocols, and regulatory standards
