  • Setting: Hospital – Level III Trauma Center, Level II NICU, Primary Stroke Center (hospital ultrasound job)
  • Contract Type: Travel contract (13-week assignment)
  • Start Date: May 18, 2026
  • End Date: August 15, 2026
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,080 – $2,230 (competitive pay for travel sonography jobs)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (Day, Mid, or Night; may include weekends and overnights)
  • Weekend Rotation: 1 weekend per contract
  • Holiday Expectations: On call 1 holiday per contract

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist/Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in a hospital setting (hospital sonography experience required)
  • Current ARDMS certification (RDMS/ARDMS)
  • BLS certification required
  • OB certification required for overnight shifts
  • Experience with inpatient and outpatient adult populations; limited pediatric exposure
  • Proficiency in OB, pelvic, vascular, ABI, reflux studies, venous insufficiency with mapping, carotids, and small parts
  • Experience operating GE ultrasound equipment and using PACS (McKesson)
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred (electronic medical record experience desirable for hospital imaging jobs)
  • Ability to work independently, especially during overnight shifts; strong clinical judgment and communication skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures for inpatient and outpatient adults, with occasional pediatric cases
  • Conduct OB, pelvic, vascular, carotid, small parts exams, ABIs, reflux studies, and venous mapping with accuracy and efficiency
  • Operate GE ultrasound systems and manage images within PACS (McKesson) according to hospital protocols
  • Provide portable/bedside ultrasounds on the floor as needed; float between units when required
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including radiologists, hospitalists, and respiratory therapists to support patient care
  • Work independently during overnight shifts while maintaining high standards of patient safety and image quality
  • Maintain accurate documentation, follow infection control and safety protocols, and ensure compliance with hospital policies
  • Participate in a one-week orientation with a dedicated preceptor to integrate into hospital workflows
