Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)
• Current Arkansas PTA license in good standing (pending Arkansas license accepted)
• Current CPR certification
• Minimum 1 year related experience (clinical affiliations required for degree not counted)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to read and document accurately
• Basic computer skills required; Cerner or electronic medical record/charting experience preferred
• COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality physical therapy interventions to adult and geriatric patients in an inpatient rehab hospital setting
• Deliver therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance and functional mobility training for diagnoses such as CVA, neuro disorders, Parkinson's disease, MS, TBI, SCI, hip fractures, amputations, and multiple trauma
• Assist the physical therapist in treatment planning and carry out delegated interventions within PTA scope
• Use adaptive devices and assistive equipment; instruct patients and caregivers on safe use
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, discharge goals, and fall prevention
• Participate in weekly interdisciplinary team meetings and coordinated discharge planning
• Document patient care and progress accurately in the electronic medical record
• Maintain patient safety, infection control, and compliance with hospital policies; demonstrate professionalism and compassion under stress
