Job Requirements
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of dietitian experience in a hospital, inpatient rehab, or clinical nutrition setting
- Experience with medical nutrition therapy, nutrition assessment, therapeutic diets, and care planning
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient and family education
- State licensure or registration as applicable (Montana healthcare licensing requirements)
Responsibilities
- Perform nutrition assessment, develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans, and provide medical nutrition therapy for patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury
- Monitor patient progress, adjust dietary recommendations, and document nutrition care in the medical record following hospital policies
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and families on therapeutic diets and nutrition strategies to support rehabilitation and recovery
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals as part of the multidisciplinary rehab team
- Support quality improvement initiatives, discharge planning, and transition of nutrition care to outpatient or community resources
