  • Setting: Hospital (EXT-Other Unit) — hospital respiratory therapist role
  • Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/4/2026, End: 8/3/2026)
  • Shift: 12 Hour Days (06:30 AM – 7:00 PM), 3 shifts per week (36 hours per week)

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Minimum 1 year recent hospital-based respiratory therapy experience (ICU, ED, and general floors required)
  • Basic NICU and pediatric respiratory experience to support ED needs
  • Strong competency in ventilator management, airway maintenance, cardiopulmonary assessment, and ABG interpretation

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely diagnostic and therapeutic cardiopulmonary services to inpatients and outpatients as a hospital respiratory therapist
  • Manage mechanical ventilation, perform ventilator checks, and implement ventilator weaning protocols
  • Assist physicians with invasive and non-invasive procedures, including intubations and advanced airway support
  • Deliver medicated aerosols, oxygen therapy, and other respiratory treatments using medical compressed gas
  • Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection, analysis, and clinical interpretation
  • Follow department policies, physician-approved protocols, and evidence-based respiratory care guidelines
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in ICU, ED, and general floor settings to optimize patient outcomes and ensure high-quality critical care
