Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,320 – $2,440
- Location: San Francisco, CA 94109 — San Francisco healthcare job / Bay Area nursing job with easy access to iconic landmarks and waterfronts
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026)
- Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (start times between 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM; end times between 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN opportunity
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Float: May float to other CPMC campuses as needed
- Patient Ratios: 2:1 (post-anesthesia care unit / PACU)
- Weekend Coverage: No weekends required
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of PACU RN experience in a high-acuity hospital; ICU experience required
- Active California RN licensure (must be in hand at time of submission)
- BLS (AHA), ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA cards in hand at time of submission)
- Travel nursing experience required (travel RN background preferred)
- Epic electronic medical record (EMR) / Epic charting experience preferred
- Ability and willingness to float to other CPMC campuses as needed
- 7-year work history verification required
- Must be available for lab work within 3–5 days of signing
- 50-mile travel requirement applies
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized peri-anesthesia nursing care using the nursing process in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU)
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, airway management, and post-op monitoring for adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
- Administer and monitor medications safely, with knowledge of dosages, interactions, and side effects
- Manage post-cardiac and cath lab holding room patients and support extensive cardiac cases
- Provide advanced post-operative care, pain management, and patient education during recovery
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including anesthesia, surgery, pharmacy, and rapid response
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic EMR (charting and handoffs)
- Float to other units and CPMC campuses as census and staffing needs require
