• Location: Albuquerque, NM (87102) — New Mexico travel nurse opportunity
• Job Type: Travel/Contract RN – Rehabilitation (Rehab RN)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 11, 2026 – August 10, 2026)
• Setting: Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation / Inpatient Rehab Hospital
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:30); every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570 – $1,650
• Start Date: May 11, 2026
• Patient Population: Adults (stroke, spinal cord injury, TBI, post-surgical rehab)
• Charting System: Epic preferred (Epic documentation experience is a plus)

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico (NM) or Compact RN license required prior to start
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Minimum 1 year recent acute inpatient rehabilitation (inpatient rehab) RN experience
• Experience with charge duties, community hospital, LTAC, or trauma settings preferred
• Epic electronic medical record experience preferred
• Willingness to work every other weekend; first-time travel nurses welcome

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality rehabilitation nursing care to adult patients in an acute inpatient rehab setting
• Manage patient assignments up to an 8:1 ratio while prioritizing safety and patient outcomes
• Administer medications, blood products, and specialized therapy protocols (anticoagulation, antiseizure, insulin)
• Assess and manage complex diagnoses including stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and post-surgical rehabilitation
• Perform skilled nursing procedures: wound care, tracheostomy care, IV starts, venous blood draws, and use of assistive/lift devices
• Deliver patient and family education on disease processes, rehabilitation goals, discharge planning, and home safety
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams, including physical/occupational therapy, speech therapy, IV teams, and phlebotomy
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic (or facility charting system) and follow infection prevention and patient safety protocols
• Float to similar units as needed based on facility requirements
