Job Details
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 – $2,130
- Role: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) / Perioperative Nurse / Surgical Nurse
- Setting: Operating Room (14 OR rooms; average daily census 45)
- Shift: Days, Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (8-hour shifts); 40 hours/week
- Call Requirement: 1–2 shifts every 6 weeks
- Charting System: Epic (Epic EMR experience preferred)
- Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Location Focus: Tyler, Texas — East Texas nursing jobs (zip code 75701)
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience (perioperative nursing)
- Trauma Level I experience required
- Experience in Ortho, General, Neuro, Vascular, and Urology cases required
- Travel nursing experience preferred (travel nurse OR roles)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification required
- Experience with Epic charting system strongly preferred
- Experience with DaVinci robotic surgery, endovascular, or ophthalmic procedures is a plus
- Applicants must not reside in the following Texas counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, effective, and compassionate perioperative care to surgical patients in a busy OR environment
- Assist and circulate for a wide range of surgical procedures including orthopedic, general surgery, neurosurgery, vascular, and urology cases
- Participate in call rotation (1–2 shifts every 6 weeks)
- Perform accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical techs, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain strict adherence to hospital policies, perioperative standards, and patient safety protocols
- Adapt quickly to new clinical environments and demonstrate flexibility as a travel nurse
