Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience in a hospital setting (acute care, ED, ICU preferred)
• Graduate of a COARC-accredited Respiratory Care Program
• NBRC credential: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required per facility guidelines (RRT credential holders encouraged)
• BLS certification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire)
• NRP certification (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and employee health screening
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States; willing to meet any state licensure requirements for Colorado

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, competent respiratory care as ordered by physicians across specialty areas: Emergency, Neonatal, Pediatric, Geriatric, and Critical Care
• Monitor and manage mechanical ventilation and ventilator-dependent patients, including ventilator adjustments and weaning protocols
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) draws, interpret results, and implement respiratory care plans
• Administer respiratory medications and aerosolized therapies according to orders
• Conduct patient assessments, document interventions, and maintain accurate electronic and paper records
• Perform airway management: bag-mask ventilation, assist with intubation, and manage advanced airway equipment
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment (ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, airway devices)
• Verify and carry out respiratory care physician orders and participate in patient care rounds
• Participate in department in-services, staff meetings, orientation, and precepting of new staff and students
• Follow infection control, safety, and risk management policies; maintain patient confidentiality and hospital standards
