Key Responsibilities – OR Circulator / Perioperative Duties

• Circulate in a 5-OR suite providing perioperative care for adult, geriatric, and some pediatric patients.
• Assist and coordinate a variety of surgical procedures including general surgery, orthopedic (ortho), C-sections, GYN, ENT, pediatric dental, and urology cases.
• Operate and maintain surgical equipment: Bovie, laparoscopic towers, Hana table, Urology table, Laser litho, Harmonic scalpel, stirrups, and other OR instrumentation.
• Document patient care and perioperative records using Meditech Magic EHR and follow hospital documentation standards.
• Participate in call rotation and respond to emergent surgical needs as required.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative team members to ensure safe, sterile, and efficient patient care.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety protocols.

Job Requirements – Qualifications for Travel OR RN

• Active RN license (Virginia RN or compact license preferred) – travel nurse credentialing required.
• Minimum 2 years recent experience as an OR circulator in a hospital operating room.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher.
• Clinical experience with general, ortho, C-sections/GYN, ENT, pediatric dental, and urology cases.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and perioperative skills with a patient-focused approach.
