Job Details

• Location: Pahala, Hawaii (96777) — Big Island travel nursing job near Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (June 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 – $2,130
• Hours: 36 hours per week (6 x 12-hour shifts every two weeks; every 3rd weekend off)
• Shift: 12-hour days
• Setting: Critical Access Hospital — Emergency Room (ER), Acute Care, and Long-Term Care (LTC) coverage
• Employment Type: Travel / Contract / Travel Nursing Job

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in Hawaii (or willingness to obtain prior to start date)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience required — ER RN / Emergency Room nurse experience preferred
• Comfortable floating between ER, acute care, and LTC units as needed (ER travel nurse responsibilities)
• Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday
• Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred — additional emergency certifications are a plus
• Strong clinical assessment, triage, adaptability, and teamwork skills for fast-paced ED and rural hospital settings
• Note: This is not a latex-free facility

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care, rapid triage, and stabilization in the Emergency Department (ER)
• Float between ER, acute, and LTC units based on patient volume and hospital needs — flexible travel nurse duties
• Administer medications, perform procedures, assist with wound care, and support critical patient interventions
• Serve as backup support in acute and LTC areas when ER patient volume is low
• Document patient care accurately in the medical record and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Support patient assessments and stabilization of critically ill or injured patients in a rural, critical access hospital
