Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Pediatric & NICU travel assignment in Durham, NC. 13-week travel respiratory therapist role for experienced RRTs with Level IV NICU and pediatric critical care expertise. Job Details – Travel Respiratory Therapist / RRT Jobs
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (travel assignment)
- Start Date: May 18, 2026 (targeted; flexible to June 1)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,810 – $1,940
- Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (06:15 – 19:15)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule block
- Setting: Pediatric Respiratory Therapy – Level IV NICU, PICU, ED, and general pediatrics
- Location: Durham, NC 27710 – Durham respiratory therapy jobs / North Carolina RRT jobs
Qualifications & Job Requirements
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required; NC RRT license or compact license in hand prior to start
- Minimum 2 years recent clinical experience in Level IV NICU, pediatric critical care, and pediatrics (including ED)
- Proficiency with high frequency jet and oscillating ventilators
- Experience managing pediatric cardiac anomalies
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS
- Epic EMR / Epic charting experience required
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Must be able to work scheduled weekends; first-time travel RRTs welcome
Responsibilities – Pediatric & NICU Respiratory Therapist
- Deliver high-quality respiratory care to neonates, infants, pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients
- Perform advanced ventilator management, including high frequency jet and oscillating ventilators
- Assist in high-risk deliveries and provide respiratory support in the NICU and PICU
- Support airway management tasks: intubation assist, ventilator setup, and arterial blood gas interpretation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (nursing, IV therapy, PT, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response)
- Document patient care accurately in Epic EMR
- Complete bi-weekly orientation and ongoing competency/training modules
- Adhere to hospital policies and maintain compliance with all credentialing and infection control requirements
