Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,890 – $4,160
• Location: Flagstaff, AZ 86001 (Flagstaff, Arizona healthcare job)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (July 12, 2026 – October 11, 2026)
• Setting: Inpatient hospital – Pediatric and PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)
• Shifts: Night shifts, 12 hours (19:00 – 07:00), 4 shifts per week
• Patient Population: Ages 0–18 years; average census 7–15 patients/day
• EMR: Cerner (experience with Cerner EMR preferred)
• Role Type: Locum tenens / travel NP – PICU / pediatric acute care nurse practitioner

Job Requirements

• Active Arizona Nurse Practitioner license (or proof of application) — Arizona nursing jobs welcome
• Board Certification as Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) with Acute Care certification required (PNP-AC)
• Current DEA registration
• BLS and PALS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of PICU or equivalent pediatric critical care experience
• Procedural competency: intubations, central venous lines, arterial lines, lumbar punctures
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced pediatric critical care as a PICU nurse practitioner (NP) across the full age range 0–18.
• Perform procedures including intubation, central and arterial line placement, and lumbar punctures.
• Manage pediatric trauma and neurosurgical patients in collaboration with specialists.
• Lead patient care coordination with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Document care and communicate effectively using Cerner EMR; complete required Cerner orientation and training prior to start.
• Adhere to evidence-based pediatric acute care protocols and hospital policies for PICU practice.
