Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,030 – $2,190
- Location: Boston, MA 02215 — West Main OR campus (Longwood Medical Area)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/11/2026 – End: 8/8/2026)
- Shift: 10-hour day shifts (7:00am – 5:30pm), 4 shifts/week; up to 2 weekends/month (call or working shifts)
- Hours: 40 hours/week; guaranteed 72 hours biweekly (excluding on-call)
- Employment Type: Travel, On-site (no local travelers; must reside >50 miles from facility)
- Orientation: Weekly (every Monday, excluding holidays)
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) — NBSTSA verification required
- Minimum 1 year recent Surgical Tech experience in a hospital Operating Room (OR)
- Required experience in transplant, trauma, and neurosurgery
- Proficiency in ortho, neuro, ENT (head & neck), general surgery, kidney transplants (liver transplant experience preferred)
- Ability to scrub robotics, spine, GYN, urology, bariatric, and orthopedic trauma cases
- Current BLS (AHA)
- Ability to respond within 30 minutes for call shifts
- Must not have worked at Beth Israel Lahey Health as permanent or per diem within the last 6 months
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative support as a Surgical Technologist/scrub tech in a busy 10-OR Level I Trauma operating room
- Assist with a wide range of procedures including neurosurgery, robotics, ENT, orthopedics, spine, major reconstructive plastics, bariatric, and transplant (kidney/liver)
- Scrub, pass instruments, and maintain sterile field and aseptic technique during cases
- Prepare OR rooms, equipment, and instrumentation for diverse surgical specialties (robotics, trauma, transplant)
- Support multidisciplinary perioperative teams to optimize patient safety and outcomes
- Float within the West Main OR campus and adapt to variable case mixes and schedules
