- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 11, 2026 – August 10, 2026)
- Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) — Travel / Acute Care / Inpatient Rehabilitation
- Setting: Acute Care Hospital, 390 beds (Level 1 Trauma Center)
- Shifts: 5x8-hour days (8:00am – 4:30pm, Mon–Fri; alternative schedules available: Tues–Sat or Wed–Sun)
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,350 – $1,460 (competitive travel PTA pay)
- Start Date: May 11, 2026
- Orientation: Every other Monday, first day in department
- Parking / Perks: Free parking garage for travelers
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year recent experience as a PTA in an acute care hospital / inpatient physical therapy setting
- Travel experience preferred; strong acute care experience considered for first-time travelers
- Active West Virginia PTA license required (pending WV license accepted; must be active by start date)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Two recent manager or charge references (within past 2 years)
- Must reside at least 100 miles from facility (75–99 miles considered for approval)
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (medical exemptions accepted)
- Cerner EMR/charting experience preferred (accurate documentation and billing experience required)
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality physical therapy interventions under the direction of a Physical Therapist’s plan of care in an acute care / inpatient rehab environment
- Treat adult and geriatric patients, including post-op cardiac, orthopedic, and complex medical cases
- Complete 16 units of treatment per day, meeting productivity expectations for acute care rehab
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, fall prevention, and adaptive strategies
- Assist with patient transfers, lifting, gait training, and use of assistive devices (gait belts, walkers, crutches, etc.)
- Document care, outcomes, and billing accurately using Cerner charting system
- Participate in department orientation, in-service trainings, and ongoing clinical education
- Maintain a safe, patient-centered, and collaborative rehabilitation environment
