Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,920 – $2,020 (competitive travel RN pay)
- Location: Glen Burnie, Maryland (21061) — Baltimore area / Anne Arundel County
- Contract Length: 12 weeks
- Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (08:00 – 20:30), every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: Med Surg 4 West – Cardiac Stepdown (27 beds, avg census 26)
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown, Telemetry, or progressive care RN experience
- Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license accepted
- BLS and ACLS (AHA only), CPI, and NIHSS certifications required
- Epic charting system experience required (electronic health record / EHR experience)
- Comfortable floating to specialty sister units and lower acuity units as needed
- References: 2 satisfactory professional references from most recent employers (1 supervisor/manager and 1 charge RN)
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Locals must reside 50+ miles from facility (travel nurse eligibility)
- Previous charge experience, community hospital, and LTAC experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including COPD, GI bleeding, ESRD, cardiac dysrhythmias, and electrolyte imbalances
- Monitor and manage cardiac telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases
- Care for ventilator-dependent patients and those on peritoneal dialysis
- Perform bedside thoracentesis and use specialized equipment (Viking lift, sit-to-stand, EKG, Zoll, vac dressing)
- Administer blood products and manage central lines, chest tubes, and surgical drains
- Participate on rapid response/code teams and support wound care management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and radiology
- Float as needed within the hospital to sister units and lower acuity units
