Role: PACU Registered Nurse / Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) – Travel Nurse
Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000 - $2,100 (competitive travel nurse pay)
Location: Winchester, VA 22601 — Winchester healthcare jobs / Virginia travel nursing
Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (June 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026)
Shift: Varied Day Shifts (6:30am – 5:00pm or 8:00am – 6:30pm)
Shift Length: 10-hour days
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (assignment guarantees 36 hours per week)
Weekend/On-Call: None

Job Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum 2 years clinical experience in Pre-Op, Post-Op, and PACU nursing (perioperative nursing preferred)
Active RN license in Virginia or Compact State (Virginia nursing jobs / Compact RN eligible)
Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (AHA only)
Proficiency with Epic EMR and strong, accurate clinical documentation skills
Demonstrated assessment and critical thinking skills for patients recovering from anesthesia

Key Responsibilities

Provide safe, patient-centered care in the Pre-Op and Post-Op (PACU) setting for patients of all ages and co-morbidities
Monitor, assess, and intervene during recovery from anesthesia; manage pain, airway, and hemodynamics
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative teams to ensure smooth patient transitions
Maintain timely, accurate documentation in Epic EMR and follow facility policies
Adhere to professional standards, facility protocols, and dress code
