Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,510 - $2,640
• Location: Crescent City, CA (zip 95531) — ideal for California travel nursing jobs and rural California nursing
• Position: Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse / Travel L&D RN / Travel RN
• Setting: Rural LDRP Family Birth Center (maternity, postpartum, newborn care)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (June 7, 2026 – September 6, 2026)
• Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour (07:00 - 19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Required (6 weekend shifts per contract)
• Orientation: 16 hours

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN (L&D RN) experience — high-risk delivery and newborn stabilization experience preferred
• Valid California RN license (required at time of submission)
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring (AHA or equivalent) — all must be in hand at submission
• Epic charting experience preferred (electronic medical record / EMR experience)
• Ability to provide accurate 7-year work history verification
• Preferred: prior community hospital or rural birth center experience
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of signing
• 50-mile travel requirement applies

Core Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care across labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care in an LDRP family birth center setting
• Manage and assist with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, and newborn stabilization for transport
• Administer medications and therapies including magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, and phototherapy
• Perform newborn assessments, metabolic screens, and provide breastfeeding/lactation support
• Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using advanced fetal monitoring equipment (electronic fetal monitoring)
• Provide patient and family education, discharge teaching, car seat safety guidance, and circumcision care instruction
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, and social services
• Provide occasional float and on-call coverage based on census
