Job Details
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 15, 2026)
- Location: Yakima, WA (98902) — Level III Trauma Center, 34-bed Emergency Department
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 – $2,250 (Travel Nurse pay estimate)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:00am) — Night shift ER nurse
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend (flexibility required)
- EMR: Epic (Epic EMR experience required/preferred)
- Scrub Color: Any (no logos)
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a large-volume, high-acuity Emergency Department (ED nurse / trauma nurse experience)
- Active Registered Nurse license (must meet state licensure requirements for Yakima, WA)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC
- Proficiency with Epic EMR and barcode medication administration
- Must pass hospital triage test prior to triage responsibilities; strong knowledge of ESI required
- Pediatric emergency medicine experience highly preferred
- Experience with Point of Care Labs is a plus
- Travel experience preferred — first-time travelers not considered
Key Responsibilities (Emergency Department RN / ER RN)
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to patients from neonate through geriatric in a fast-paced ED setting
- Perform barcode scanning medication administration, manage medication drips, and administer blood products
- Conduct triage, demonstrate strong knowledge of Emergency Severity Index (ESI), and stabilize high-acuity patients
- Set up chest tubes, arterial lines, and assist with trauma activations, codes, and resuscitations
- Perform splinting, BiPAP/ventilator management, and assist with Point of Care Labs
- Care for patients with stroke, cardiac events, behavioral health crises, substance use disorder, and multi-system trauma
- Stabilize, coordinate, and transfer high-acuity patients as needed to appropriate levels of care
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a zone-based ED environment to ensure efficient, safe patient flow
