Travel ER RN Job Details

• Location: Tuscaloosa, AL 35401 (Tuscaloosa, Alabama travel nursing)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse
• Setting: Emergency Department (ED) – 54-bed hospital; Level III Trauma Center; Level II Stroke Center
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/26/2026 – End: 8/23/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (15:00–03:00), every other weekend and holidays as required
• Hours per Week: 36 or 48 hours available
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 – $1,770
• Scrub Colors: Solid Navy
• Parking: Available on site

Emergency Department (ED RN) Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or Compact state (no temporary licenses accepted)
• Associate degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred for some ED roles
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience (will consider 18 months with at least 1 year of recent ER experience)
• Required certifications:
  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • AHA PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or Red Cross equivalent
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – can be secured on site
• Experience in high-acuity emergency nursing, trauma nursing, and stroke care
• Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred (EMR documentation experience a plus)

Emergency Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced, high-acuity ED
• Perform rapid triage, assessment, interventions, and patient stabilization for trauma, stroke, cardiac, pediatric, and medical emergencies
• Respond to critical care situations and follow established trauma and stroke protocols
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including emergency physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, techs, and support staff
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Meditech EMR or other clinical systems
• Float to other units or hospitals within the system as required
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and dress code (solid navy scrubs)
• Participate in required holiday and every-other-weekend rotations
