Setting: Hospital Operating Room (OR) — hospital surgical tech role
Start Date: May 18, 2026
End Date: August 16, 2026
Duration: 13 weeks (travel surgical tech assignment)
Shift: 8-hour day shifts (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM), primarily days
Weekend Coverage: Every third weekend
Call Requirement: 10-12 days/month
Holiday Rotation: As needed by department

Qualifications / Job Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technician/Surgical Technologist in a hospital operating room
Valid Surgical Technician certification or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential (or equivalent)
Neurosurgery experience preferred — experience with neurosurgical cases is a plus
Able to fulfill call, weekend, and holiday rotation requirements
Completion of required onboarding health screenings and background checks

Responsibilities

Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and supplies for a variety of surgical procedures
Assist surgeons and perioperative nurses during operations, maintaining a sterile field
Efficiently handle surgical instruments, implants, and equipment (including neurosurgical instrumentation when applicable)
Participate in neurosurgery and other specialized procedures as needed
Maintain accurate perioperative records, counts, and adhere strictly to hospital protocols
Provide coverage for call shifts, weekend rotations, and participate in team-based patient care efforts
