Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,730 - $1,860
• Location: Plattsburgh, New York (Zip: 12901) — Plattsburgh, NY travel surgical tech job
• Setting: Hospital Operating Room (OR) — Level III trauma center
• Contract Duration: 16 weeks (May 18, 2026 – September 6, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• On-Call: 1 night per week; on call once every 3rd to 4th weekend
• Weekend/Holiday: Weekend shifts as needed; holiday call rotation
• Floating: Required to float to Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) based on schedule and experience

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a Surgical Technologist / Surgical Tech in hospital OR settings
• Minimum 2 years experience in hospital operating room environments preferred
• Certification: NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) Surgical Technologist certification required
• Valid New York State Surgical Tech license
• Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA preferred)
• Vascular surgery skills required — experience in vascular cases is a must
• Solid knowledge base in orthopedics, robotics, general surgery, ENT, plastics, and neuro
• Prior travel assignment experience preferred for travel surgical tech roles
• Experience in facilities with similar bed count and trauma level (II or higher) preferred
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (public transportation not accessible)

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical technologist support across a variety of specialties in the operating room (excluding cardiac, transplants, neuro, and gastric bypass)
• Circulate when required; scrub experience preferred — function as both scrub and circulator based on case needs
• Float to Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) as needed; adapt to multiple OR environments
• Assist with patient transports and start IVs when central transport personnel are unavailable
• Follow strict OR dress code, sterile technique, and infection control protocols
• Document patient care and perioperative notes using EPIC EMR — familiarity with EPIC preferred
• Participate in rotation schedules, on-call assignments, orientation, and specialty competency testing as required
