- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,790 - $1,920
- Location: Martinsburg, WV 25401 (Eastern Panhandle, West Virginia)
- Role: Travel Respiratory Therapist / Hospital Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Setting: Acute Care Hospital
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 24, 2026 – July 24, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:30am), rotating weekends and holidays — night shift respiratory therapist
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Charting System: EPIC (electronic medical record experience preferred)
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required; CRT accepted if licensed prior to July 1, 2022
- Minimum 1 year of hospital respiratory therapy experience (NICU, Pediatrics, and Adult care experience preferred)
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (AHA)
- Ability to intubate independently for pediatric and adult patients
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory assessments and develop treatment plans per physician orders in an acute care hospital setting
- Manage respiratory equipment and therapies: oxygen therapy, humidity therapy, airway management, resuscitation, mechanical ventilation, postural drainage, chest physiotherapy, BiPAP, CPAP, nebulizers, inhalers
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and interpretation
- Initiate and manage mechanical ventilation, ventilator weaning, and ventilator changes as indicated
- Perform EKGs as needed (varies by facility and shift)
- Care for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patient populations; float between units including Level II NICU when required
- Document patient care accurately in EPIC and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team focused on patient-centered care, safety, and teamwork
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled
