Job Details

• Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – 12-hour nights
• Location: Dixon, IL (Dixon, Illinois; northwestern Illinois; zip 61021)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 5/11/2026 – End: 8/10/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 – $2,250
• Setting: Acute Care – Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) unit
• Charting System: EPIC (EPIC experience preferred)
• Scrub Color: Any (close-toed shoes required)
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Typically every other weekend and holiday

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active RN license in Illinois (or proof of application in process). Illinois nursing license preferred for quicker onboarding.
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience; telemetry experience a plus
• Ability to pass a comprehensive drug screen (drug-free campus)
• Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical assessment skills
• Critical care/ICU or ER float experience preferred; travel nurse experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses (NSTEMI, COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, AKI, and more)
• Monitor and document patient status, administer medications safely, and perform routine assessments using EPIC
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and patient care technicians (PCTs) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Sign off on telemetry strips throughout the shift (telemetry techs scheduled to read strips)
• Float to ICU, ER, or Behavioral Health Care (BHC) units when clinically appropriate and if experienced; otherwise remain on Med/Surg unit
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for patients and staff
• Participate in department-specific orientation and ongoing training as needed
