Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (valid in state of practice or appropriate compact license)
- BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- Minimum of 2 years of bedside clinical experience
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to supervise and direct Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN/LVN), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), and orientees
- Experience in LTAC, complex care, or rehabilitation settings preferred but not required
Responsibilities (LTAC Nurse / Travel RN)
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and interdisciplinary team conferences to support recovery goals
- Initiate discharge planning and patient/family teaching from the day of admission
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
- Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital safety policies and procedures
- Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel and support staff
- Maintain effective communication with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care for medically complex patients
- Contribute positively to team building and a supportive work environment
- Identify and pursue opportunities for professional growth and development in LTAC and travel nursing
