Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,310 – $1,410
- Location: Santa Fe, NM 87505 (Santa Fe, New Mexico)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (June 1, 2026 – August 30, 2026) — travel contract
- Shift: 4 x 10-hour days (06:30–17:00)
- Hours per Week: 40
- On Call: 1–2 call nights per week
- Weekend Call: 1–2 24-hour weekend call shifts as scheduled
- Floating: May float to other departments as needed
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program or accredited LVN/LPN program
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) within 180 days of graduation OR valid LVN/LPN license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Tech or OR Tech (2+ years preferred), with perioperative/hospital experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and care for pre-operative patients; provide patient comfort and privacy
- Prepare patient skin for surgery and maintain strict aseptic technique
- Set up operating room (OR) tables, instruments, and supplies according to case type
- Establish and maintain sterile field; pass instruments, sutures, and supplies to surgeons
- Scrub proficiently in multiple specialty areas — experience in Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, and Robotics highly preferred
- Transport and position patients safely for surgical procedures
- Identify, handle, and document biological specimens correctly
- Monitor and control the surgical environment, including OR traffic, dress codes, and infection control
- Decontaminate, process, and sterilize instruments and supplies per facility policy
- Adapt patient care to meet population-specific and developmental needs
- Collaborate effectively as a member of the surgical team and support perioperative workflows
- Perform other duties as assigned by the OR leadership
