Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,530 - $2,720 (competitive pay for travel nuclear medicine technologist)
- Location: Eureka, CA (95501) — California nuclear medicine job
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026)
- Shift: Day Shift, 5x8-Hour (07:00 - 15:30) — 40 hours/week
- Employment Type: Travel / On-site
- Clinical Setting: Community hospital; diagnostic imaging and nuclear medicine department
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) or equivalent clinical experience
- Valid California license in hand (required for California nuclear medicine jobs)
- Certifications: ARRT(N), CNMT, or NMTCB (ARRT(N) and/or NMTCB accepted)
- Experience with Epic charting system preferred (Epic experience boosts candidacy)
- Ability to float to outpatient department (a block away) and affiliate hospitals as needed
- Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
- Two professional references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years
Responsibilities / Clinical Duties
- Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures: 3-Phase, Exercise/Rest-Multiple, Gastric Emptying, HIDA, PET Scan, Uptake, Ventilation/Perfusion (V/Q), Whole Body scans, and other standard NMT exams
- Start and maintain IVs; follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols for patient and staff safety
- Handle, store, transport, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals and radioactive materials in accordance with radiation safety regulations
- Operate Siemens imaging equipment and document findings in Epic charting system
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV Teams, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams to ensure high-quality patient care
- Float to outpatient department and affiliate hospitals as required to support departmental coverage
