- Facility: Acute Care Hospital (212 staffed beds)
- Unit: Wound Care RN – PPSMMC Nutrition Services
- Start Date: June 2, 2026
- End Date: September 1, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (11:00 AM – 11:30 PM); block schedule Mon–Wed preferred; flexibility Mon–Sat (no Sundays)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 – $2,040 (competitive travel nurse pay)
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
- Scrub Color: Navy blue for RNs
- Charting: Epic (highly preferred) — Epic charting experience a plus for wound care documentation
- Parking: Free onsite parking
Job Requirements
- Active California RN license (must be in hand prior to start) — Registered Nurse (RN)
- Minimum 2 years recent hospital experience in wound care (hard requirement) — wound care nurse experience required
- Wound Care Certification required (WOCN or equivalent wound care certification)
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- EPIC charting experience highly preferred (Epic experience benefits travel RNs)
- First-time travel nurses accepted with 5+ years of clinical experience
- LA Fire Card within the last 30 days required
- Ability to float to different units on the floor to treat wounds as needed (interdisciplinary collaboration)
- References: 2 required, covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO must be included at time of submission
Responsibilities
- Provide expert wound care to adult and geriatric patients with surgical, chronic, or trauma wounds — Wound Care RN responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive wound assessments, staging, and develop individualized wound care plans
- Implement advanced wound therapies including wound VAC therapy, sharp and mechanical debridement, and pressure ulcer prevention/management
- Document wound assessments, treatments, and progress accurately in Epic (accurate clinical documentation)
- Educate patients, caregivers, and family members on wound care management and prevention strategies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, PT/OT, nutrition, case management) to optimize patient outcomes
- Float as needed to provide wound care services across different units within the facility
