ICU RN Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU RN experience in a critical care setting (2 years preferred)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the U.S.; ability to obtain state licensure as required
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS, PALS, CCRN preferred
• Experience with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and invasive lines (arterial, central lines, Swan-Ganz)
• Familiarity with charting systems; McKesson experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals nearby

ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to adult and geriatric patients in the ICU as an ICU RN / Critical Care Nurse
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, pulmonary artery (Swan-Ganz) lines, and care for ventilated patients
• Administer continuous IV sedation, titrate vasoactive drips, and interpret/manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Support vascular procedures and monitor advanced devices including IABP, Impella pump, EKOS, and pre/post PCI care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: IV team, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary
• Participate in orientation modules and ongoing training to maintain critical care competencies
