Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,550 - $2,690
- Location: San Mateo, CA 94401 (San Mateo County, Bay Area)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026)
- Shift: Day shift, primarily 9:00 AM – 5:15 PM (8-hour days)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Type: Travel Nurse, On-Site, Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)
- On-call/Weekends: No on-call or weekend coverage required
Required Qualifications & Certifications (OR RN, Perioperative Nurse)
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
- Minimum 2 years recent ambulatory/outpatient OR experience — cataracts, sports medicine, arthroplasty preferred
- Experience with da Vinci robotic systems and moderate sedation
- EPIC charting experience strongly preferred
- Ability to provide a 7-year work history verification
- Must be available for lab work within 3–5 days of signing; copy of certifications required at submission
Key Responsibilities (Surgical Nurse / OR Duties)
- Provide relief coverage for staff breaks and support prolonged or complex cases in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery center
- Assist across a variety of surgical specialties: orthopedics, ophthalmology (cataracts), general surgery, plastics, EENT, and vascular cases
- Set up operating rooms, ensure instrumentation and supplies are ready, and facilitate quick case transitions to maintain OR efficiency
- Support da Vinci robotic procedures and moderate sedation workflows when applicable
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary perioperative teams (surgeons, anesthesia, surgical techs) to deliver high-quality patient care and positive surgical outcomes
