Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Assignment | Peoria, IL

Job Details – Travel RN / Med-Surg RN

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 – $2,250
• Location: Peoria, IL 61637 (Peoria, Illinois)
• Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN), Medical-Surgical/Acute Care Unit (29 beds)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (5/18/2026 – 8/17/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts per week — Night Shift Travel RN
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and rotating holidays

Required Qualifications – Registered Nurse (RN)

• Current, active Illinois RN license (or proof of application in progress) — Illinois travel nurse candidates encouraged
• BLS Certification (AHA)
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience in an acute care setting
• Comfortable with IV starts and medication titration (ability to titrate Heparin drips)
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record preferred
• Negative drug screen required (OSF is a Drug-Free Campus)

Responsibilities – Medical-Surgical Nursing

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based acute care to adult patients with diagnoses such as GI bleeds, sepsis, CHF, COVID, DVT, and pulmonary embolism
• Manage night nurse-to-patient ratios of approximately 5-6:1
• Perform IV starts, medication administration, and heparin drip titration per protocol
• Float to other Medical-Surgical units as needed (no ICU or chemo patients on this assignment)
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team including Charge RN, Crisis RN, and administrative supervisors
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC
• Complete unit-specific orientation (typically 2 shifts) to ensure a smooth transition
